MGI Receives iF Design Award for DNBSEQ-G99* Gene Sequencing Platform

Shenzhen, China, 20th April 2023 – MGI Tech Co., Ltd. ("MGI"), a company committed to building core tools and technology to lead life science, is proud to announce that its DNBSEQ-G99 gene sequencer has been awarded the iF Design Award. DNBSEQ-G99 platform has been recognized for its discipline user interface experience, featuring three flowcell loading ways to enhance flexibility, timely interactive feedback and process reminders to improve user interaction, and excellent fault tolerance to contribute to users' learning and cognition.

DNBSEQ-G99 gene sequencing platform is a full-process gene sequencing platform developed based on MGI's independent intellectual property rights. It integrates the functions of sequencing biochemical reactions, image acquisition, data analysis and processing, and result report output, and is widely applied in small and medium-flux desktop sequencers.

The platform simplifies tedious operations and enhances the user experience by providing three flowcell loading ways – single-sided (A/B) / double-sided (A+B) / alternating loading – for performing sequencing or washing tasks simultaneously. The sequencing entrance is designed with intelligent judgment and dynamic real-time judgment of self-test results, improving the flexibility of use.

Additionally, the platform features interactive feedback and process reminders that give users adequate time and assurance to perform tasks safely. The design also facilitates learning and cognition with its excellent fault tolerance, providing users with prompts for inappropriate operations or wrong scenarios. Interactions can be made with one click, reducing the cost of cognitive learning.

Established in 1953, the iF Design Awards are recognized internationally as one of the world's most prestigious design awards and is often referred to as the "Oscar of Design". It's the third time MGI has received the award. In 2019, MGI won iF Design Award for DNBSEQ-T7* and Benchtop sequencing lab DNBSEQ-E5*, and for Robotic Ultrasound System in 2017.
