In response to the development of new coronavirus epidemics, improving sample detection throughput is a top priority. Nucleic acid extraction through an automated sample preparation system can optimize key speed-limiting steps in the detection process and increase the speed of large-scale sample detection as a whole.

At present, two automated sample preparation systems: MGISP-960 and MGISP-100 have obtained NMPA certification. Among them, the throughput of MGISP-960 has been upgraded from the original 96 samples / 60 minutes to 192 samples / 80 minutes to meet urgent needs for higher throughput screening during return to work.

In addition to equipping Wuhan's "Huo-Yan" laboratory to ensure the detection capacity of 10,000 people per day, MGI's high-throughput automated sample preparation system has assisted medical institutions and disease control centers in more than 30 cities and regions across the country. The detection front-line has contributed theoretical extraction throughput of more than 100,000 samples per day, becoming an important force for epidemic prevention and control in various places.

Wuhan Huo-Yan Laboratory

As the "outpost" of the anti-epidemic campaign in Wuhan and Hubei, the Coronavirus emergency detection laboratory operated by "Huo-Yan" laboratory has a detection capacity of 10,000 people per day.

In order to improve the speed of large-scale sample detection as a whole, the "Huo-Yan" laboratory is equipped with a large number of MGISP-100 and MGISP-960 automated sample preparation systems for nucleic acid extraction, and is equipped with virus RNA extraction reagents and consumables.

As of 11 o'clock on February 11th, the "Huo-Yan" laboratory operation team has received more than 15,000 samples in total, and can further undertake the scientific investigation of larger-scale resumption and re-workers. At the same time, according to the epidemic situation in Wuhan and Hubei The prevention and control needs to operate efficiently and ensure the detection capacity of 10,000 copies / day, even higher.

CDC of Xiaogan City

Xiaogan City, Hubei Province is adjacent to Wuhan, and is also a "severe disaster area" of the epidemic situation. It also faces many challenges in the epidemic prevention and control process. In order to respond quickly to novel coronavirus cases, they should be isolated, receivable and treated. Measures, the Xiaogan CDC urgently deployed three MGISP-960 high-throughput automated sample preparation systems to accelerate the detection of local virus samples in a comprehensive manner to meet the larger screening scope and virus screening in county and city hospitals jobs.

Currently, the Xiaogan CDC said the extraction was very smooth after use.

CDC of Huanggang City

In order to prevent the epidemic from further spreading, the Huanggang City Government urgently requisitioned the Xiaogangshan Hospital—the Dabieshan Regional Medical Center based on the 13 designated hospitals and 29 fever clinics identified in the city in the early stage, and converted it to 1000 beds.

In order to help Huanggang CDC accelerate the completion of the detection of novel coronavirus samples and alleviate the local epidemic emergency as soon as possible, MGI quickly sent the MGISP-960 high-throughput automated sample preparation system to the front line and completed the installation in time to screen for suspected cases and provide powerful tool support and guarantee.

CDC of Jingzhou City

Jingzhou City, Hubei Province is also the "severe area" of this epidemic. In order to quickly and effectively control the spread of the epidemic, Jingzhou CDC has expedited the installation of the Huada Intelligent Manufacturing MGISP-100 automated sample preparation system, and actively convened medical staff to complete simple and easy to learn training Work to add more strength to the next epidemic prevention and control.

5 MGI

At present, Beijing Medical Inspection Institute has installed multiple MGISP-960 high-throughput automated sample preparation systems, which are designed to undertake the testing of some local samples in Beijing and help the Beijing epidemic prevention and control work.

Guiyang Hospital of Guizhou Province

Guiyang Guiyang Hospital is one of the first batch of designated institutions to conduct pneumonitis nucleic acid screening and detection of new coronavirus infections in Guizhou Province. A large number of specimens need to be tested every day. The sharp increase in sample size should be met, and the inspectors responsible for testing will work overtime. All samples are tested daily, and the daily working hours reach more than 10 hours.

In order to meet the urgent needs of large-scale crowds and high-throughput screening, reduce the limitations of conventional detection methods, and ensure the personal safety of testing personnel, the hospital has been expeditedly equipped with MGISP-960 high-throughput automated sample preparation system. It takes about 6 hours to detect 96 specimens of conventional new coronavirus nucleic acid, and the fully automatic nucleic acid extraction by MGISP-960 can complete this work in about 1 hour.

In addition to the advantages of automation and simple operation, this equipment can also ensure the advantages of strong scalability, safety and environmental protection, high purity, high yield, pollution-free and stable results, and truly achieve one-stop, safe prevention and control.

"Huo-Yan" Laboratory in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province

In order to minimize the risk of re-employed workers infected with the novel coronavirus , prevent the spread of the epidemic, and achieve the orderly start of the enterprise as soon as possible, Wuxi City has strengthened scientific and technological innovation in the prevention and control of the epidemic, and established the Wuxi "Huo-Yan"-a new type in the Huishan Life Park Coronavirus nucleic acid screening and testing special laboratory to facilitate the smooth development of new coronavirus nucleic acid screening and testing services.

Like the "Huo-Yan" laboratory in Wuhan, the "Huo-Yan" laboratory in Wuxi has also adopted the University of Wisconsin's MGISP-960 high-throughput automated sample preparation system, and has opened a new type of coronavirus nucleic acid screening for employees of resumption enterprises starting on February 12. Testing services are expected to reach a maximum of 5,000 daily testing services, which can help enterprises resume work and resume production as soon as possible, and also strengthen a healthy "protective shield" for returning workers.

CDC of Shanxi Province

Shanxi Province firmly grasps the initiative of epidemic prevention and control, accurately implements strategies, and rapidly improves detection capabilities in a targeted manner. It fully screens key populations and urgently configures and installs the provincial CDC and Taiyuan, Datong, Jinzhong, Jincheng, and Yuncheng CDC. It also introduced the MGISP-960 high-throughput automated sample preparation system, which accelerated the nucleic acid detection of key populations in key areas.

In addition to the above cities, the high-throughput automated preparation system has also been used in more than 30 cities and regions including Tianjin, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Qingdao, Enshi, Foshan, etc., to help prevent and control the local epidemic situation. As the epidemic situation enters the tackling stage, In order to achieve "early detection, early isolation, early diagnosis, and early treatment", all employees of MGI are working overtime, only to send automated equipment to the front line of the epidemic as soon as possible, and complete the installation and commissioning as soon as possible.

We know that behind every sample to be inspected is precious life. We are in awe of every life and are committed to benefiting human beings through life technology.
