The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics Review and Awards Ceremony was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing recently. China's COVID response policy has once again withstood the test of the severe and complicated situation, ensuring a smooth event as scheduled and presenting the world with a "truly exceptional Olympic Winter Games" and an "unforgettable heart-warming Winter Paralympics Games."

At the same time, we are proud to state that MGI has received a letter of thanks from the Emergency-Response Team for Medical Aid and Pandemic Prevention under the Winter Olympic Games Urban Operation and Environment Construction Command of Zhuangjiakou City. The letter writes that MGI has selected an elite force to safeguard Zhangjiakou competition zone with its core technology and equipment, adorning the success of the Winter Olympic Games.

MGI's robotic ultrasound system and a series of automation systems including MGISP-960 high-throughput automated sample preparation system, MGISTP-7000 high-throughput automated transfer processing system, MGISP-NE384 high-throughput automated nucleic acid extractor were put to test to ensure a COVID-safe event.

Engineers from MGI held on to the nucleic acid testing laboratory in Zhangjiakou Competition Zone for more than 90 days during the Winter Olympic Games. Together with their counterparts, they completed the installation, operation and maintenance of these automated equipment that could effectively improve the efficiency of nucleic acid testing.

"We volunteered to support the event when we just received the notice. I have always been a big fan of the Olympic Games, and I feel extremely proud to have this opportunity to join the supporting team." Said Hua Chao, "MGI's equipment played an important role in shortening the turnaround time for a test report within four hours meet the requirements of the organizing committee."

After the successful conclusion of the Winter Paralympics, Hua Chao undergone a short home quarantine and then rushed to Qingdao City in Shangdong Province to support a new round of COVID-19 Control and Prevention.

There was another right-hand man sticking to this bone-chilling competition zone, Jing Hao. He wrote in his Moment when he left the nucleic acid testing lab of Zhangjiakou, saying that "I came here in winter and I'm leaving in summer."

In more than 90 days and nights including the Chinese Spring Festival, the day for family reunions, they were participating in another form of competition differing from the Winter Olympic Games. This is a true reflection of the "ordinary" staff members of Winter Olympic.

MGI has also played an integral role in the global combat against COVID-19 by speeding up the efficiency of large-scale testing while ensuring a safer working environment for lab technicians. MGI's automation systems have been supporting more than 50 countries to date, including Singapore, Thailand, Latvia, and Sweden, contributing to safeguarding the global community.
