Liu An, China, May 13, 2021 –Liu An, a prefecture-level city in western Anhui province, started its second round of city-wide nucleic acid testing for COVID-19 since the confirmed cases have been reported.
In response, MGI urgently deployed three container labs and two nucleic acid testing vehicles from Fuyang People's Hospital and CDCs of Fuyang, Suzhou and Chuzhou to Liu An to scale-up the COVID-19 testing capacity.
These mobile platforms are equipped with MGI's automation equipment. After receiving the assignment to support the COVID-19 outbreak in Liu An, six (6) engineers left for Liu An immediately and the lab started operation in 12 hours thanks to the efforts of MGI engineers who have been working around the clock to install and comission the equipment.
Featuring high mobility, flexibility, and quick results, MGI's mobile platforms can meet the urgent testing needs in response to sudden outbreaks.
“At present, we are working 24/7 to keep the equipment running at full capacity. The lab can process nearly 20,000 samples for single tube testing. We are on site standing by to solve any problem at any time.” Said Chen Xi, an engineer from MGI.
At 4:00 a.m. in Liu An, MGI's engineers are working overtime to keep the lab running.
Equipped with automated MGISTP-7000 sample transfer processing system, MGISP-960 high-throughput automated sample preparation system and ZLIMS intelligent laboratory management system, MGI's mobile platform can complete the whole testing process including fully automated sample barcode scanning, information identification and sample dispatching, nucleic acid extraction and real-time monitoring and management.
The equipment is easy to operate and allows the medical staff to be trained to manage the whole process in a short period of time. It can be transported easily to major train stations, ports, and communities and put into use quickly to support hospitals, disease control centers and pathology labs in COVID-19 testing.
MGI's engineers are always ready to march to the front line to support the global pandemic response pandemic. Most of them have already volunteered to the frontline projects including Qingdao and Shijiazhuang outbreaks, showing responsibility and altruism, just as flexible and mobile as the equipment.
MGI's mobile platforms have supported many cities' fight against the COVID-19 to date including Chengdu, Chongqing, Ganzhou, Xiamen, Wuhan, Lanzhou and Xi'an.
